The Benford's law of controversy:
Passion is inversely proportional to the amount of real information available.

Godwin's Law:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

Hanlon's razor (very useful)
Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

And my own (still unnamed) little contribution:

Generalizations are the best way to run away from a serious debate.
